Five Rare Color Photographs by Muky: Great Images of Dorothy Lamour, Tyrone Power, Lena Horne Sonja Henie, and Armando Silvestre and One Stunning Black and White Photo of Olivia De Havilland. Menyhert Munkacsi (1909-1999) known throughout the film industry for 60 years as "Muky" and who the New York Times called "the Mathew Brady" of film when they profiled/reviewed the outdoor set photography of some 75 films. He was also an accomplished studio photographer working for Warner Brothers from 1930 to 1940.
Rare color photos by Muky: A fantastic Dorothy Lamour in a sarong wading through a river in ROAD TO ZANZIBAR, a striking image of Tyrone Power in costume for THE BLACK SWAN (negative included), Lena Horne as Glinda in THE WIZ in a remarkable shot floating amongst the stars, Geraldine Page in A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, Sonja Henie portrait in skates (negative included), and Mexican actor Armando Silvestre a hilarious behind the scenes image from THE SCALPHUNTERS.
Beautiful black and white 11 x 14" signed photo of Olivia De Havilland inscribed and signed to the photographer Muky. Photo is mounted on stock dated 1938 and stamped Muky and his studio in New Jersey at the time. Slight discoloration at top right corner, soft corner tips otherwise an incredible vintage original photo boldly signed in blue fountain pen ink with De Havilland never lovelier.
