Nelson, Lord Horatio (1758-1805) British admiral; hero of Trafalgar. Document Signed ("Nelson & Bronte"), aboard the "Victory at Sea," August 20, 1804. 2 pp folio. A memorandum to the Masters of the Victory, Royal Sovereign, and Seahorse, ordering them to report on the condition of a cask of pork said to be partly eaten by rats, "and the remainder Rotten stinking unfit for men to eat." Lightly browned, wear at folds and small edge splits; some toning and soiling. Good to Very Good.
