Lot 267

1851 N-5 R2+ NGC graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive frosty bluish steel and olive with peeps of very faded mint red showing on the obverse. Essentially flawless except for a shallow diagonal planchet flake on the cheek (as struck) and a small spot of carbon between the tops of the 1 & 8 in the date. MDS, die state a. The fields show very fine radial die flowlines but the obverse remains uncracked. Our grade is MS60+, tied for CC#11 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Colonel Green-Newman provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 4; none finer. Estimated Value $700 - UP
