Lot 266

1851 N-4 R1 Repunched 1's PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light olive and medium brown with hints of very faded red in protected areas on the reverse. Nicely struck and quite attractive. No spots or stains. The only marks are a faint scratch left of star 12 and a few tiny rim nicks off the end of the wreath stem. MDS, die state a late. The repunching on the 1's is dull but clear and some of the diagonal lines in the field around the date are still visible, although quite dull. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 4 finer: 3 in 65, 1 in 66. Estimated Value $400 - UP
