Kathy Shorkey. Feeding Pigeons Outside the Bakery. Kathy Shorkey, a featured artist by Saatchi Art Group and resident of Venice, California excels in appealing street scenes using with a variety of media at her disposal. While her eye captures contemporary scenes, one is not sure exactly what time period, some scenes feeling decades old but at the same time, quite familiar.
Case in point is this wonderfully warm toned mixed media on canvas work we have entitled "Feeding Pigeons Outside the Bakery". Could be any any number of locations in Venice, but the apparel is conspicuously ageless. One pigeon actually eating out of the gentleman's hand, two wonderful dogs on leash, cigarette dangling from mouth which evokes a time somewhat out of the past.
Work measures 30 x 40" and having 2.75" deep canvas floater frame, a brilliant artistic choice to have painting pop from the wall. Shorkey has signed in lower right corner, the artwork in mint condition. Estimated Value $400 - 600
