Lot 2575

KY, Harlan, 1902, $20.00, Plain Back, The Citizens National Bank of. . Fr-6052. Charter 12243. Fr. 661. This institution issued her currency for a little less then 10 years. The Great Depression claimed another victim on January 19, 1932 when the bank was forced into receivership. Only $6,810.00 of her large-size notes remained outstanding when she closed her doors forever. This lovely note has good colors and the pinkish rubber stamped signatures only enhance this note. Rare as only 5 notes are reported on this bank. During our diligent search we have located the 1 other note being sold on this bank last year. This happened in February at the R.M. Smythe Auction. That note was also a Plain Back $20.00, however, it was not without problems and optimistically grade. Needless to say, our note is a finer example. Very Fine.
Estimated Value $500 - 1,000.

Realized $575
