Marion Davies Through The Ages: Four Wonderful 11 x 14" Portraits. Marion Davies (1897-1961) was famously the mistress to newspaper magnate, William Randolph Hearst. But not enough credit is given to her musical comedy, which once Hearst took over her "management" failed to blossom as he kept forcing her into less suitable roles. Here are four beautiful portraits for Ms. Davies from her estate. Two from the 30s, both deckle-edged, are by acclaimed photographers Elmer Fryer and James Manatt. The other two are later in life by John Engstead, one with her husband Horace Brown, whom she married 11 weeks after Hearst's death. All four in excellent condition. Estimate Value $400 - UP
