1894-S $5 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-61. A surprisingly scarce date in Mint State, represented by only a handful of Uncirculated examples, this despite a mintage of almost 56,000 pieces. This one has a nice, orange-gold color, lots of luster, and an appearance that looks closer to Choice than average. PCGS reports 3 in this grade, 4 in MS-62, 1 in MS-63, and 1 in MS-64. No Gems have been reported in over 18 years! (PCGS # 8389) .
