Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.54 g) possibly minted in Macedonia. Head right of Athena wearing triple-crested helmet, decorated with snake. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis. Cf. Price 164 and other varieties. Superb Extremely Fine.
Unfortunately, the reverse left side of the flan is a bit short, prohibiting mint attribution.
