Lot 233

1850 N-5 R4+ NGC graded MS62 Brown. Glossy medium brown with slightly darker chocolate brown toning on the highpoints. Mint frost covers the protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Looks mint state but there is a bit of friction on the highpoints. No spots or stains. The only notable mark is a relatively fresh scratch at the dentil tips from star 6 to star 7. M-LDS, die state b, with flowlined fields. Our grade is AU50. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; 4 finer: 1 in 63, 2 in 65, 1 in 66.
