Lot 231

1850 N-3 R1 NGC graded MS63 Brown. Very attractive medium olive and bluish steel with faded red covering 15% of both sides. The color may not be totally original but the surfaces are lustrous and this cent has very nice eye appeal. A tiny horizontal scratch right of star 13 is the only notable mark. VLDS, die state c late. The fields are flowlined, the line inside the E in CENT is gone, and there are shallow low spots inside the wreath (as struck). Previously housed in a PCGS slab graded MS62BN (PCGS label #405866.62/28461242 with the attribution noted on the label). Our grade is MS60, tied for CC#11 in the Grellman census. The COL Ellsworth Collection provenance is noted on the NGC label. Estimated Value $400 - UP
