Lot 222

1849 N-27 R4+ NGC graded MS62 Brown. Very attractive uniform glossy light to medium brown. Traces of mint frost show in protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. There is a touch of wear on the highpoints but no spots, stains, or notable contact marks. A subtle puff of reddish brown toning in the dentils over the right side of the second S in STATES may help identify this cent. MDS, die state b, with a triangular spike reaching from the dentils right of star 9. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; 1 finer in 63. Estimated Value $300 - UP
