German States - Hesse-Cassel. Taler, 1663-IGB. Dav-6784a; Schütz-1142; KM-254v; Hoffm.1347. Mintmaster IGB (Johann Georg Buttner, 1657-1680). Wilhelm VI, 1637-1663. Bust right in wreath. Reverse Crowned oval arms between palm branches. Toned. Very Rare. NGC graded EF-45.

One of the very few portrait types issued in Hesse before Karl in 1670. An indication that life was returning to normal. Yet still, very few of this type were minted.
