1849 N-25 R7 PCGS VF Details, Cleaning. Glossy reddish brown and chocolate with darker steel toning in protected areas on the obverse. Smooth and free of corrosion or verdigris, but there are some nicks scattered over both sides. A vertical nick below the right corner of the eye can help identify this cent. Our grade is net F12, tied for CC#4 honors among the 9 examples known in the Grellman census. One of the five rarest varieties in the 1840-1857 series of business strikes. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Estimated Value $3,250 - UP
