Rare Autograph of Boris Karloff, Presentation Matted with Photograph as The Monster in FRANKENSTEIN. Boris Karloff (born William Henry Pratt 1887-1969) For Golden Age Hollywood collectors, most especially those of Universal Horror, there is no autograph more desirable than Boris Karloff. Portraying The Monster in three FRANKENSTEIN films, as well as Imhotep in THE MUMMY, the mute butler in the phenomenal OLD DARK HOUSE and co-starred with Bela Lugosi in THE BLACK CAT, THE INVISIBLE RAY and THE RAVEN. Karloff also distinguished himself in non-horror films such as John Ford's THE LOST PATROL. The 1940s brought him great success on stage and film in ARSENIC & OLD LACE. Later Karloff in the mid 1960s Karloff was the narrater in the animated television hit THE GRINCH THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS. Offered is a 2½ x 3½" cut signature on lightly textured paper executed in black fountain pen ink. Paper has light toning and two tiny stains at edge of mat. Otherwise a fine piece and ready for framing. Estimate Value $500 - UP
