1849 N-23 R3 PCGS AU Detail Altered Surface. Frosty dark chocolate brown and olive. The planchet is smooth except for extremely faint granularity covering the portrait. No verdigris, only a few trivial marks including a tiny tick in the center of the eyebrow and another over the B in LIBERTY. LDS, die state d (Newcomb's old #13), with fine repunching visible under the 1, 4, and 9. Most of the earlier die lines have been polished off the die. Our grade is net EF45.
