Lot 2125

1902, $10 National Bank Note. The First NB, Pond Creek, OK Territory. Fine-Very Fine. . Fr-613. . KL-1216. From the January, 2007 Heritage FUN Currency Auction, where it was described as: "This is the most "common" bank in either the Oklahoma or Indian Territories for Red Seals, with eight examples in the census. Of course, that figure should also take into account that the entire census for both Oklahoma and Indian Territory Red Seals still comes in at fewer than a hundred pieces for all denominations and banks combined. This is a very attractive specimen, with a vivid red overprint, good centering, and the pen signature of Assistant Cashier Naomi Wheatley, likely one of the very few females to have signed Territorial National Bank Notes." This note brought $13,800 in spirited bidding in that sale, and we expect a similar result today.
Estimated Value $12,000 - 14,000.
