Lot 210

1849 N-12 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel and light olive with generous traces of slightly mellowed mint red showing on the obverse. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and it is choice except for a small patch of very fine corrosion under ME in AMERICA. The only other mark is a faint diagonal hairline and light nick on the cheek. E-MDS, die state a, with die lines over UN in UNITED. Nicely struck with full radial lines in all but one of the stars. Our grade is MS60+, tied for CC#5 in the Grellman census. Noyes photo #30210. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; 2 finer in 65. Estimated Value $800 - UP
