1795 S-78 R1 Plain Edge. Clipped Planchet. VG-10. A couple points sharper but there is a scratch in the field from just off the lips to the dentils before the nose and the surfaces are not perfectly smooth. A glass reveals myriad fine hairline scratches on the portrait and traces of shallow verdigris in protected areas. Rather glossy medium brown with darker olive toning in protected areas. The date is bold and the legends are complete. MDS with a curved planchet clip over LI and the top of the cap not reaching either one. Decent eye appeal for the grade in spite of the defects.
