Lot 209

1849 N-11 R1 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Attractive frosty medium brown with a subtle hint of reddish steel overtone. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highpoints. The best identifying mark is a dull tick on star 2, and it takes a glass to find it. Terminal die state, die state g, with a series of rim cuds from the bottom of the reverse to over the U in UNITED. The cud breaks are strong. Our grade is AU55. Not in the overall condition census for the variety but third finest of the die state in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 7 finer: 3 in 63, 2 in 64, 2 in 65. Estimated Value $600 - UP
