Lot 2051
1902. NGC graded MS-67. Well struck and ablaze with untoned mint luster. Looks as "fresh as a daisy", right off the press! Following closely on the consistent high quality of this consignor’s other fine gold coins, the 1902 Half Eagle we present is an amazing coin. Intricately detailed and satiny, with splashes of beautiful orange patina over both sides. A few minor scuffs in the luster at the first two stars, and a trivial surface flake (as made) near the eagle’s beak require magnification to be brought to the viewer's attention. Pop 2; none finer (PCGS # 8405) . Estimated Value $8,000 - 9,000.
