Sale 98

Lot 198

1688 American Plantation 1/24 Real Newman 4-E, W-1130 PCGS graded AU58. Rather frosty medium gray and steel with peeps of bright silvery toning in protected areas. The surfaces are granular, as usual, but there is no notable tin pest. The only marks are a dull nick on the hoof of the horse and a long nick or struck-through line on the left edge of the shield with the lion. The legends are complete and easily readable. While this piece is not identified by PCGS as a "Restrike," it is possible this piece was struck in 1828 using a pair of original dies. Listed on page 43 in the "Redbook." Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
Ex John Agre (CoinRaritiesOnline) 6/1/2012-Gene Heard Collection.

Realized $881
