1827 N-10 R4+ EF45. EF-45. Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned and retoned glossy medium brown and light chocolate with bluish steel overtones in the reverse fields. Some extremely faint hairlines remain from the light cleaning. A splash of chocolate toning rests against the profile from the eye down to the chin with another touching the top of the hair bun, and some reddish chocolate shows at the base of the second A in AMERICA. The only contact marks are a dull vertical nick in the field close to the lower left point of star 12 and a short scratch under the TE in STATES. EDS with prooflike fields on the obverse from the die polishing between the N-11 and N-10 marriage. Called AU55 net EF45 and CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #20531. Bland says AU50 and CC#1. Our grade is net EF45 (PCGS # 45) .
