Important Collection of Greek, Judea, Roman, Byzantine and Early Islamic Weights 90+ Pieces. Taking years to assemble, a wonderful collection of ancient lead and bronze weights. Included are early Islamic bronze weights (750-1050 AD) in round and barrel shapes of different sizes, some with etched designs. There are three small Byzantine squares each with very appealing detail work, a collection of 15 Greek, Judean, Byzantine and Early Islamic weights in round, tubular and kettle ball shaped weights many with etched designs. Twelve Greek lozenge or football shaped lead weights are also included, one with interesting raised designs as well as larger weights including one handball sized round weight, with a small section broken off, three bell shaped bronze weights, one tubular weight, bronze ring weights most intriguing, 5 Roman bronze head weights.
