Lot 193

1835 C-1 R1 Repunched 5 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Choice lustrous mint red mellowing to bluish steel and light olive with nearly a third of the planchet showing faded mint color. The surfaces are satiny and virtually flawless offering outstanding eye appeal. Can't find an identifying mark, and that says something. A bit of weakness in the dentils under the junction of the 8 & 3 in the date may help identify this piece. Nicely struck E-MDS, Manley state 1.0. Die clashmarks show on both sides. All the stars display full radial lines and the repunching on the 5 is sharp. A very nice 1835 half cent. Our grade is MS65. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer, 2 in 65, 1 in 65+ for the variety. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
