Lot 184

1848 N-34 R5+ NGC graded AU53. Glossy light chocolate with slightly darker olive brown toning on the highpoints. No roughness, only light contact marks scattered over both sides. The notable marks are a faint diagonal scratch from the ear to the chin and a small diagonal scratch on the second 8 in the date. MDS. The earlier die lines are visible but dull. Our grade is VF30+, tied for CC#13 in the Grellman census. Comes with a wonderful provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 1; 2 finer: 1 in 61, 1 in 64. Estimated Value $400 - UP
