Lot 1830
1868 $1 Gold Indian. NGC graded MS-61. Low mintage, of course, with just 10,500 cranked out during Reconstruction. But war profiteers were by then collecting coins, so some got saved, liked this nice coin. It has the luster of a date from the 1880s, real strong, and almost no contact marks, aside from a few longish ones right behind the princess's head. A nice coin for the grade, worth a good bid!
