The reverse legend mentions the treaty concluded between the Romans and Agrippa I whereby Claudius guaranteed Agrippa's kingdom, bestowing upon him the title of "Great King," and granting his brother, Herod, the territory of Chalcis in Lebanon. This was no doubt Claudius returning the favor for Agrippa's involvement in securing the support of the Roman Senate for his accession following the assassination of Caligula.
