Attica, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. Silver Tetradrachm (17.18g). Head of Athena right, wearing earring, necklace and crested Attic helmet. Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left, AOE to right; all lwithin incuse square. Kroll 8; HGC 4, 1597; SNG Cop. 31. Boldly struck on a nice broad flan and free from edge splits. An attractive example with light mottled toning. NGC Mint State*; Strike: 5/5, Surface: 5/5. Estimated Value $3,000 - 4,000
