Lot 181

1973 S-9 Vine & Bars. PCGS graded EF-40. CAC. Choice glossy light olive and chocolate. The surfaces are smooth and there are no notable contact marks. The only defects are a few tiny planchet flakes hidden in the dentils right of the tip of the bust, a chip on the rim over the left top of the M in AMERICA, two shallow flakes over the A in STATES, and numerous tiny flakes or chips near the dentil tips on the lower part of the reverse. All these chips or flakes are as minted and chip over the M is the only mark that catches your eye. Nicely struck EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks. The obverse fields are very smooth and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. Our grade is VF30+. The attribution and Great Pacific Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 9 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 35459) Estimated Value $22,500 - UP
Acquired from an unrecorded source in 2003-Great Pacific Collection.
