Cypro-Mycenaean Pottery: Large Polychrome Amphora, Pigments Well Preserved and in Near Choice Condition. Ancient Cyprus was at the crossroads of the world and the island went through periods of a variety of cultural influences. From 700-600 B.C. the consistent pottery style is on full display with this wonderful piece. A beautiful polychrome amphora decorated with bands of red and black paint, the pigments strikingly well preserved. Overall this piece is in outstanding condition. We note one inch area of restoration on the edge of the mouth expertly done, as well as two much smaller chips and a small chip to base. But the entire body is intact and unrestored.
