Autograph letter signed "Thomas Mifflin" as Governor, one page, on laid watermarked paper, 12¾ x 7¾", Philadelphia, May 16, 1789. A letter of introduction to an unknown person in Boston, commending to his attention Mr. Fox, Mr. Norris, and Mr. Bleckly, "young gentlemen of this City of excellent Character good Connections and more than independent Fortunes. They intend to visit Boston & your Capital and may want besides your Friendship at York, a kind recommendation to the Eastward." Fine condition. Estimate $500 - 600
