AR Shekel (14.2g) dated Year Three (68/9 C.E.). Temple vessel (omer cup?) with pearled rim; above date and surrounding Hebrew inscription: Shekel of Israel. Reverse: Stem with three budding pomegranates; Hebrew inscription: Jerusalem the Holy. Boldly struck and very well centered. H-662, AJC 18. One of the finest shekels we have handled. NGC graded Choice Mint State *. Strike: 5/5; Surface: 5/5. Our grade is superb surfaces and Nearly Mint State and nicely toned.
