Ptolemaic Egypt, Arsinoê II, wife of Ptolemy II, d. 270 B.C. Gold Oktadrachm (27.7 g) struck by Ptolemy VI. Diademed and veiled bust right of Arsinoê II, lotus scepter behind bust; behind, "K". Reverse: Filleted cornuacopiae. Dewing 2762; cf. Svoronos 1498; SNG Cop 321. Boldly struck from slightly rusted dies with some scattered marks in the reverse fields. A desirable example of this popular massive ancient gold coin. Extremely Fine.
