Lot 172

1826 N-4 R2 PCGS graded MS64RB. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red faded to bluish steel brown and chocolate on the highpoints, at least a third of the mint color remaining on the obverse and half remaining on the reverse. The only defects are a spot of carbon at the left top of the N in CENT, another on the right top of the M in AMERICA, and a third on the left side of that C. Otherwise this cent is a gem. Great eye appeal in spite of the few spots. EDS with crisp dentils around both sides. Called MS63 and tied for CC#2 in the Bland census. Our grade is MS63. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
Ex Elmer Sears-T. James Clarke.

Realized $3,680
