Rare Flown Flag Carried Into Space by Ed White on Gemini IV, June 3-7, 1965 & Literally Flown In Space During White's First EVA. (1 of only 7). Ed White (1930-1967 Apollo I Test Catastrophe) Flown 12 x 18" silk American flag carried into space in one of Ed White's PPK's (then FLOWN IN SPACE) on America's First Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) mission. Part of a collection of numerous flown items handled by Superior / A-Mark Co. Spring Space Memorabilia Auction, May 18th & 19th, 1996, Lot 199. Numerous items were auctioned from the Ex-Ed White II Collection. Included are images of one of the seven flags being presented at West Point, another on display at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, a copy of the auction cover and lot page from 1966. Finally the COA issued by Ed White where he states this was the last of the seven flags offered for sale. A remarkable piece of space history and fine tribute to an astronaut taken far too young along with Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee during the Apollo 1 Command Module countdown simulation.
