Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 AD. AE Middle Bronze (27 mm.), Year 3 (undated), struck 134/135 AD. . Hen-736. Scarce and interesting with underlying profile. Palm tree of seven branches, with two date clusters below; Hebrew inscription across field ("Simon"). Reverse: Vine leaf with branch; Hebrew inscription around ("For the freedom of Jerusalem"). Hendin 736; Mild. 138. The reverse with obvious profile from the undertype -- showing the neck and head of the Roman emperor. Pleasing deep green and lighter green patina, with tan earthen residues and hints of azurite. Choice Very Fine.
