Huge Asaphus Trilobite. At 11 x 11 inches, this 475 million year old Asaphus trilobite is one of the largest and most unusual types known as most trilobites only measure 1-2 inches. This unique black specimen was found near Alnif, Morocco and has long curved genal spines extending out from its head, giving the illusion that it could fly through water. Placed on a 16 x 14 inch stone matrix, the quality of this usually poorly preserved trilobite species is very good, with only minor restoration on the ends of its genal spines.
