Lot 160

1825 N-4 R3 PCGS graded MS64BN. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Frosty medium steel brown blending to chocolate on the highpoints and on the lower half of the reverse. Excellent luster and eye appeal with just a few trivial contact marks, including a couple light nicks on the chin. The best identifying marks are two spots of reddish chocolate toning in the field touching the curl left of star 13. MDS with a series of fine die cracks involving all the stars except for #10 and another through the base of RICA to the stem and ribbon. Called MS60 and CC#1 as the only mint state example in the Bland census. Noyes says AU55 and tied for CC#1, his photo #20662. Our grade is MS60. PCGS Population 1; none finer.
Estimated Value $5,000-UP.
