Currier & Ives Lithograph of "Washington's Reception by the Ladies, On Passing the Bridge at Trenton, N.J., April 1789." Hand-colored, published in New York, 1845. Image size is 13¼" x 9¼". Fine; even overall toning with tiny tone burn spot in top of covered bridge. Attractively matted and framed to an overall size of 20" x 15½". Beautiful early print of Washington's procession from Mount Vernon to New York to be inaugurated first President of the United States. Every town along the way greeted him as the conquering hero.
