1848 N-14 R4- PCGS graded XF45. Choice glossy medium brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Smooth and very attractive; the notable marks are a small dig close over star 12, a dull scratch right of star 6, and a planchet flake on the upper half of the L in LIBERTY (as struck). M-LDS, die state b. Most of the early die lines on the obverse are gone and there is a fine die crack through the top of STATE. Our grade is VF35. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer: 1 in 53, 1 in 58, 1 in 64. Estimated Value $100 - UP
