Lot 159

The only notable marks, and they are microscopic, are a couple very faint hairline scratches right of star 3. LDS, die state b, with a rim cud break over TES. This is the discovery coin for the die variety, and it comes from the Frank D. Andrews Collection (his inscribed collection envelope is included; the only original Andrews collection envelope I have seen). Our grade is VF30, tied for CC#14 of those known with the rim cud in the Grellman census. Comes with a great provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 9 finer: 1 in 45, 1 in 58, 1 in 62, 4 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 66. Estimated Value $600 - UP
