Lot 158

1848 N-13 R4+ NGC graded MS61 Brown. Glossy light olive and brown blending to medium olive in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and traces of frosty mint luster show in some of the protected areas. The only notable mark is a dull pinprick left of the ear lobe. Nicely struck MDS, die state a late. Fine die flowlines show off the dentil tips on the obverse but there is no rim cud break at the top of the reverse. A nice cent, just very lightly worn. Our grade is EF40+, very close to EF45. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. NGC population 2; 5 finer: 1 in 62, 1 in 63, 3 in 64. Estimated Value $250 - UP
