Calabria, Taras (Tarentum). Circa 330 BC. AR Stater or Nomos (7.88g). Naked ephebos on prancing horse right, thrusting downwards with spear held in raised right hand and carrying large circular shield with two horizontal spears in left. Reverse: Taras seated astride dolphin swimming left, holding trident over shoulder and cup. Vlasto 617 (this coin). Toned; Superb Extremely Fine.
