Two (2) Pre-Columbian Chimu Blackware Pottery from Peru: Two Fine Examples, One with Human Face. Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1250 to 1450 A.D
1.) Intriguing single handled small pitcher with the face of a male and details of braided hair up to the neck of vessel. 6½ x 4 x 4". Small chipping to one area of mouth, otherwise quite fine.
2.) Small vessel with single handle and decorated with a small monkey aside the neck. Bulbous gourd like body with a fine patina. 4¼ x 5½ x 2¼". Vessel must have been set onto a cradle as it's fine, curved shape does not allow to stand upright. A knockout piece. Estimated Value $400 - 600
