Swanson, Gloria (1897-1983) Star of silent films; best remembered for her role as the faded star, Norma Desmond, in the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard. Two beautiful 13 x 10 in. Photographs Signed and Inscribed "To Winnie and Warner / Affectionately / Gloria"; one adds the date, "1936." The youthful head-and-shoulders portrait, c. 1920s, is by Clarence Sinclair Bull; stamped on the back with embossed stamp at front lower right. Minor chipping at lower edge. The other photograph, in a draped gown, is by Hal Phyfe, who signed in the plate and his stamp is on the verso; slight waviness at lower right. Two beautiful, early, signed portraits of Miss Swanson.
