Modjeska, Helena (1844-1919) Polish actress; came to America in 1876. 20 x 16 inch Front of House Photograph Signed and Inscribed in the lower border, "Miss Mildred Aldrich--with love and best wishes of Helena Modjeska / 1896." Her repertoire included nine Shakespearean heroines, as well as Ibsen. Photographer's imprint by Stein (New York). Minor stain at bottom left corner. Housed in a 21 x 18 in. frame and ready for display.
