Parthian Kingdom. Lot of Four Silver Drachms, and Tetradrachm, 123 BC. - 191 AD. Good dealer lot. Tetradrachm of Gotarzes II, 40-51 AD., dated 47/8 AD.; Bust left / Enthroned king receiving Tyche; Sell. 65.18.9. Drachms all with diademed or tiaraed bust left and archer reverse. Included are: Mithradates II, 123-88 BC. (Sell. 26.1); two of Orodes I, 90-77 BC. (Sear Greek 7389); and, Vologases IV, 147-191 AD. (Shore 433). Gotarzes boldly struck, obverse off center, but in better metal. An Orodes well centered on quite round flan, artistically toned, with good portrait. Vologases a choice example. One Drachm Very Fine, rest rather better; Vologases Extremely Fine.
