Ancient Judea. Jewish War, 66-70 AD. AR Half Shekel (6.7 g), Year 2, struck 67/68 AD. . Hen-660. Choice example on nice wide flan. Scarce. Omer cup with pearled rim, base with projections; Hebrew inscription around, date above cup. Reverse: Stem with pearled base and three pomegranates; Hebrew inscription around ("Jerusalem the Holy"). Hendin 660; AJC II, p. 260, 10. Bold, sharp strike. Very faint porosity on obverse, otherwise with pleasant medium toning. Extremely Fine.
