Euboea. Karystos, c. 411-336 BC. AR Didrachm (7.6 g.). Very rare. This coin much superior to the British Museum example. Cow standing right, head turned back to regard her suckling calf. Reverse: Cock standing right, ethnic around. SNG Cop. 415; BMC p. 101, 6, same reverse die (with angular die flaw in the field). High relief devices boldly struck up. Cleaned, the coin without toning. Very Fine plus.
